Endocavity Rotational Mover (ECRM)
The ECRM is a probe positioner that rotates an endocavity transducer about its long
axis, creating a fanned data set. This positioner is for use with the 8658 biplane
transducer.
The
ECRM consists of:
•
a computer-controlled mover (UA0550)
•
a transducer cradle (UA0551)
Figure 20-2. The ECRM.
Caution: The cradle is specifically designed for the 8658 transducer. Do not
interchange transducers and cradles.
Setting Up the ECRM
To attach the cradle to the mover:
1
Use the 2 alignment pins to attach the cradle to the mover.
2
Tighten the captured screw to hold the cradle and mover firmly together.
Figure 20-3. Attaching the cradle to the mover.
To detach the cradle from the mover:
•
Turn the screw counterclockwise until the 2 components separate.
The transducer should fit tightly into the cradle (see Fig 20-5).
To mount the transducer:
1
Slide the 8658 transducer into the cradle while you align the pin on the
transducer with the groove on the cradle.
2
Make sure that the transducer is fully inserted in the groove.
WARNING Do not put your fingers where they can be pinched when the mover moves
back toward you.
