Immersion
After the PCU has been cleaned as described on page 202, it can be disinfected by
immersion. The PCU itself is a sealed unit and can be totally immersed. When the
PCU plug is covered with its special water-tight plug cover, you can immerse the
entire PCU, including the plug. (See Fig 14-2.)
See General Transducer Information (BB0555) for more information about
disinfection using immersion.

Caution: Screw the plug cover on tightly before you immerse the plug. If fluid comes
into contact with the plug, the PCU may be destroyed.

STERRAD
®
After the PCU has been cleaned as described on page 202, it can be processed using
the STERRAD
®
System.
Caution: The watertight PCU plug cover MUST NOT be screwed on while the PCU
undergoes the STERRAD
®
process.
Caution: After each processing, you must check the PCU for surface pits and cracks.
STERIS SYSTEM 1

After the PCU has been cleaned as described on page 202, it can be processed using
STERIS SYSTEM 1
