3.  Drag and drop M52259DEMO_Flash_Bootloader_Blinks_LED1.S19 onto the removable drive open in My

Computer.

4.  When the file name shows up in My Computer, press the RESET switch
5.  Notice that LED1 blinks at approx 1 Hz.
6.  To access the bootloader again, simply press SW1 while pressing and releasing the RESET switch

To Reload  the Bootloader Application:

1.  Connect the A/B USB cable between the host PC and the type B USB connector at J6.  The 6-in-1 USB cable

is not required.

2.  Follow on-screen prompts to install the necessary USB drivers
3.  Open CodeWarrior for ColdFire, v7.1.  Select Tools | Flash Programmer
4.  Ensure Target Configuration is selected in the left-hand pane (LHP).
5.  In the right-hand pane (RHP) set Connection box to ColdFire v2-v4 JM60OSBDM.  Click on Load Settings…

button and select MCF52259_INTFLASH.xml.

6.  In the LHP, select Erase/Blank Check.  Press the Erase button in the RHP to erase the target device.  Press

the Blank Check button to ensure the device is erased.

7.  Select Program/Verify in the LHP
8.  In the RHP, click the Browse… button and navigate to <path:>\MCF5225x Bootloader_1.1\MCF5225x Boot-

loader_1.1\Bootloader USB MSD\MCF5225x_Bootloader_with_Application\obj

9.  Select the bootloader file M52259DEMO_Flash_Bootloader_Blinks_LED1.S19
10.  Click Program to load the target.  Click Verify to ensure the application code loaded properly.
11.  Press the RESET button on the M52259DEMOMCU board.  Notice LED1 begins to blink.

Troubleshooting

If the demonstration application fails to function as indicated above, please follow the steps below before con-
tacting Freescale Semiconductors.  Please refer to the Technical Information Card (TIC) card included in the
M52259DEMOKIT kit for contact information.

 

Ensure CodeWarrior for ColdFire, v7.1 is properly installed.

 

Reload the Bootloader Application, refer to procedure above

 

Close and restart CodeWarrior between each attempt to flash the target device.
