1. Product description
The SKF 42-00 converts e.g. satellite radio into 8, the SKF 82-00 into 16 FM output signals with RDS. Both
headends have a decoder for AAC-LC. This is the coding format used by German public broadcaster ARD on
ASTRA for satellite radio since July 2021.

Note:
The SKF 82-00 can be upgraded to 24 FM output signals using the SKS 1-24 expansion software. Since
the SKS 1-24 software extension must be installed ex works, it must be ordered with the SKF 82-00.

Principle of operation
Headend devices with multituners can receive DVB-S/S2/S2x, DVB-T/T2 or DVB-C. Typically, as shown, SAT
signals are fed in at the inputs.
Note:
If SAT signals are temporarily unavailable (e.g. due to snow), the module will reboot every 10 minutes.
This ensures that all configured programmes will be available for the subscribers once the signal becomes
available again.
