Decide the felling direction considering the wind, lean of the tree etc. Make a notch cut one-
third of the way into the tree on the falling side. Make a felling cut from the opposite side of
the notch and at a level slightly higher than the bottom of the notch.
10.
When working at height:
use elevated work platforms,
never work on a ladder, or on any other insecure support,
never work in a tree,
always maintain a firm foothold,
never use the saw above shoulder height,
never use the saw with one hand.

Be alert to the springing back of acute limb.
12.
Watch out for your safety - wood chips, dust, snapping branches and other debris can be
tossed by the cutting chain into the operator’s facial area.
13.
Be extremely cautious when working on slopes or uneven ground, stand behind a tree off to
the side and away from the tree you are cutting or stay above log on down slope.
14.
Do not use steel wedges.
Failure to comply with safety precautions could result in equipment damage,
or severe personal injury.
DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION
CUTTING ASSEMBLY
1.
Always wear protecvive gloves when handling assembly, otherwise serious personal injury
may result.
2.
Move the chain brake lever (front hand guard) fully rearward
to remove or install the clutch cover to chain saw.
3.
Align the brake connector of the clutch cover to the groove
on the side of the brake lever (Front hand guard).
4.
Remove clutch cover nuts and remove clutch cover. Remove bar and saw chain if necessary.
5.
Mount guide bar on studs and slide toward sprocket to make saw chain installation easier.
Install saw chain around sprocket and guide bar with cutters on top of guide bar facing
forward.
6.
Install the sprocket guard over the guide bar studs. Ensure chain tension adjuster pin fits into
the guide bar adjuster hole, brake band is positioned around clutch
drum, and pin at rear of sprocket guard fits hole on engine cover.
Tighten clutch cover nuts finger tight.
7.
Unlock the chain brake, and install the clutch cover over the guide
bar studs. Ensure chain tension adjuster pin fits into the guide bar
adjuster hole, brake band is positioned around clutch drum, and pin
at rear of clutch cover fits hole on engine cover. Tighten clutch cover nuts finger tight.
8.
Turn saw over, and check brake band for correct position on clutch drum. If brake band is
not in place around drum, remove cover, make sure brake is unlocked, and reinstall.
Improper clutch cover assembly can result in serious injury, and will cause
severe saw damage if unit is started. Never start or operate saw if brake band is
not in place on clutch drum. Always check chain brake operation after
replacing cover. Do not use saw if chain brake does not function properly.
