AVS A-SERIES INSTALLATION MANUAL - GEN 2 VER 5

28

To allow the

button to shut down the engine before the turbo timer times out:

1.

Turn off the ignition.

2.

Close all doors then turn ignition

on, off and on.

3.

Press the

button 17 times.

4.

Turn the ignition off. This will toggle the feature on or off. If the on-board turbo timer feature is turned on
the siren will chirp once. If the feature is turned off the siren will chirp twice.

5.

If you have turned the feature on the engine can now be stopped before the set time by pressing the

button for 3 seconds. You can program this button to work instantly if desired. Refer

Register 1,

Feature 6

Operation:

To operate the system, simply turn the ignition off and exit the vehicle as normal. The engine will continue to
run for the preset max run time.

Pressing the

button will arm the alarm and lock the doors as normal but the immobiliser relays will stay

closed until the pre-programmed time out. If the alarm detects an intrusion the alarm will sound and the
system will immobilise the engine.

If the vehicle is running on the on-board turbo timer (and the alarm is disarmed) it is possible to turn the
ignition back on and drive the vehicle.

The engine can be stopped before the set time by pressing the

button for 3 seconds. You can program

this button to work instantly if desired. Refer

Register 1, Feature 6

.

Second ignition wire:

Some vehicles have their fans and other devices powered via a secondary ignition wire and if the turbo timer
does not power this circuit as well as the main ignition it can lead to overheating etc.

With the onboard turbo timer turned to on (

Register 1, Feature 17

), the BOOT OUT wire puts out a constant

negative when the onboard turbo timer is running so this wire can be used to run an external relay to provide
+12V power to the secondary ignition wire.
