2.2 Operation description
AVK Smart Water’s VIDI products are equipped with a long-lasting non-rechargeable lithium
battery-powered device that allow the acquisition of physical quantities and sending them using
low-power radio equipment.
VIDI Flow counts the digital pulses generated by a flow meter when a certain water volume has
passed through the flow meter. (E.g., every 100 litres).
Transmits the average flow every 30 minutes (LoRa®) or 60 minutes (NB-IoT). In case an alarm
is detected (tamper or battery alarm), an additional data package is sent immediately.
2.3 Activation/deactivation
Provisioning and configuration are explained in the VIDI Provisioning Manual.
3. Maintenance
3.1 Battery replacement
The battery replacement can be done by opening the plastic casing by unscrewing the four
screws in the bottom with a 6mm Torx screwdriver (not included) and removing the lid carefully.
Carefully take out the battery from the casing and disconnect the wire connector attached to the
Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and replace it with a new battery by connecting the wire connector
to the PCB.
A new battery can be requested at your local AVK supplier.
Once the battery is replaced in the case of the LoRaWAN™ transmitter, the message
counters are reset to zero. You must then also reset LoRa® server-side.
