Will it fit on my bike?
There’s a very easy way to find out if
PowerSense is compatible with your bike.
You’ll need 11mm clearance between the non
drive-side crank and the chain stay.
You can get away with a bit less, but this is
what we recommend for generally dirty and
groggy roads.
How do I fit it on my bike?
We’ve got lots of content showing you how
to fit a crank to your bike.

Will it work with my head unit?
PowerSense communicates with head
units over Ant+. So, if your head unit
operates on this platform, then yes!
Most Garmins and other head units use this
communication platform but check the head
unit box or website of your head unit’s
manufacturer and you’ll be able to check
there.
Can I swap it between my bikes?
Short answer, yes, but only the whole
crank. You can change the crank between
bikes if
you’re so inclined. As the sensor is
glued on with super, super, super glue (it
gets the best result) then you’d break the
unit if you tried to pull it off and put it on
another crank
PowerSense has been created so that you
don’t have to change it between bikes, and
priced so that you can enable all your
machines to generate power data.
How long does Calibration take?
Short answer
– a few seconds. Navigate to
the Zero Offset/Calibration screen on your
head unit (made easier by going through
your head unit’s manual) and ensuring
you’re not clipped into the pedal, and the
pedal is at the 6 o’clock position, press
calibrate and wait for a figure of around
200
to be returned. A few units either side
of
200
is normal.
Can I get a Bike Shop to fit my
PowerSense Crank?
Absolutely. Take your bike to any Authorized
Dealer and they
will be able to not only fit
the crank to your bike, but show you how to
calibrate PowerSense so you are power
ready out of the shop! Pretty cool huh. (Just
remember your head unit).
Is there any general maintenance
I need to do?
There are a couple of things you can do to
ensure PowerSense works the best it can.
We recommend you calibrate before
every ride
. Although you wouldn’t do any
harm by just calibrating once a week.
Also cleaning. PowerSense is pretty tough.
Even we don’t break them very often and
we’re trying! Try not to catch it with a
jet-wash! (Not that you should be jet wash-
ing
your bike anyway as it’ll blow the grease
from the bearings).
I think I’ve done something wrong!
