HDX-192 Cooling Kit Installation

The HDX-192 Cooling Kit must be installed on HDX-192 DSP
cards. Installation is simple using the included parts.

Installing a Cooling Kit consists of the following steps:

• Removing the E6L engine core

• Removing all HDX-192 DSP cards

• Installing a Fan assembly on each HDX-192 card

• Re-installing the HDX-192 cards into the E6L Engine

• Re-connecting the HDX TDM cable between HDX cards

(if more than one card are present)

• Replacing hardware

• Confirming Installation

• (1) HDX-192 Fan assembly (fan and shroud)

• Fasteners (4x 4-40 plastic screws)

• 1x Phillips #1 screwdriver

• 1x tube of adhesive (not needed on all E6L engines)

Removing the E6L Engine Core

HDX cards are installed in the E6L engine core, which slides out
of the E6L chassis.

To remove the E6L engine core

1

Put on your anti-static wrist band and configure according to
its instructions.

2

Shut down your system, and disconnect any cables connected
to your E6L engine.

3

Place your E6L on a table or other flat surface that provides
enough room for the E6L engine core to be removed comfort-
ably. Make sure your surface is clear of any debris.

4

On the back of the E6L, loosen the four thumbscrews that se-
cure the core to the engine chassis.

5

Simultaneously pull the two bottom thumbscrews outward so
their latches are fully extended, as shown in Figure 2.

Make sure you have already installed VENUE software
version 5.7 or higher before installing the Cooling Kit on
your HDX-192 card(s).
