4. Hang Point Position Range (Pitch trim)
(See Figure 5)
The hang loop is attached to the keel via a ‘rocker’. It is important that if the hang loop is re-fitted (for
example a new length hangloop is fitted) a note of the original position should be made first. The backup
loop must be attached as well as the main loop. The position of the rocker can be changed by removing the
retaining nut (a flat blade screwdriver can be used to prevent the bolt head turning), taking the bolt out and
moving the base of the rocker forwards or backwards one hole at a time. Replace the nut with a new nyloc,
take care not to overtighten, as with most nuts on a hang glider the nut is just there to retain the bolt, not to
provide any clamping force. (See Tuning; pitch trim.)
Max. forward position
1287 mm
Maximum rearwards position
1362 mm
Measure this distance, do not count the holes or guess
.
(Distances are measured from the front of the keel
without
plastic bung to centre of hole in keel.)
Please note:
The recommended starting position is
1325 mm
from the nose. See also Trim speed section on Page 18. The
first flight should be in perfect conditions. If the hang point position needs to be changed move by only one
hole (12.5mm) at a time.
