Adjusting the expansion mechanism
If the expanding mandrel cannot be compressed when
the release button is pushed in:
Loosen the 3 setscrews [298B] on front
cone [298A].
Slide the cone fractionally towards the machine ca-
sing and tighten the setscrews. Take care not to
overtighten the setscrews.
Check the expansion mechanism is functioning pro-
perly. Repeat adjustment procedure as necessary.

Dancer arm
Tools:
– Hexagon socket driver SW 2, 2.5, 3, 4
– Size 2 Phillips screwdriver
– Circlip pliers external for diameter 20
– Adjust gauge (see Fig. [290])
– Hot air blower
– Mounting mandrel (make this yourself to the
specifications in Fig. [297])
[297] Mounting mandrel for spacer rings in casing
Auxiliary materials:
– Loctite 648 adhesive
– Loctite 243 Threadlocker
– Multi-purpose grease
Removing the dancer arm
Remove expansion mechanism - see Ch.
.
Remove the three screws [299A], remove the sup-
port disc [299B].
Open the casing - see Ch.
Loosen 4 screws on the motor mount [300A] to sla-
cken the toothed belt [300C].
Loosen 2 setscrews on the large pulley [300B].
Remove pulley and toothed belt.
