Avaya X330G2 Expansion Module Installation Guide

Caution:  

The expansion modules contain components sensitive to electrostatic 

discharge. In order to prevent ESD damage, the board is shipped in an antistatic bag. 
Don’t touch the board unless instructed to do so. Always use a grounding strap.

Press the module in firmly until the connector at the back of the module is 
completely inserted into the internal Avaya P330 connector.

Gently tighten the two screws on the front panel of the expansion module by 
turning the knobs.

We recommended that you reset the Avaya P330.

Removing an Existing Expansion Module

Loosen the screws by turning the knobs.

Grasp the two knobs, one near each side of the front panel, and pull gently but 
firmly towards yourself.

Insert another expansion module or the blanking plate.

We recommended that you reset the Avaya P330.

Note:  

You must not use the Avaya P330 switch when the expansion slot is 

uncovered. In case the slot is empty cover it with the supplied blanking plate.

Installing and Removing GBIC Transceivers

Caution:  

Use only 5V Avaya-authorized 1.25 Gbit/s GBIC transceivers.

Two types of GBIC transceivers are supported, one fastened using snap-in clips and 
the other using a locking spring.

GBIC Transceiver with Clips

Insert the transceiver (take care to insert it the right way up, arrows on top) until 
it clicks in place.

To remove the transceiver, press the clips on either side of the transceiver at the 
same time and pull the transceiver out.

GBIC Transceiver with a Locking Spring

Ensure that there are no cables connected to the GBIC.

Lift up the GBIC transceiver locking spring and insert the transceiver (take care 
to insert it the right way up, it will not fit in upside down) until it is completely 
inside the socket. To secure the GBIC transceiver in place, push down the 
locking spring.

To remove the GBIC, remove the cables, lift up the locking spring and pull out 
the transceiver.
