Connectivity when Expansion Module and Avaya Vantage
™
built-in UC experience
are on the same device
When Expansion Module and Avaya Vantage
™
built-in UC experience are available on the same
device, depending on the device configuration by your administrator, one of the following can
happen:
• Expansion Module automatically pairs with the local Avaya Vantage
™
built-in UC experience.
They connect automatically when you open either applications. You do not need to perform
any additional action to establish the connection.
• No automatic pairing with the local Avaya Vantage
™
built-in UC experience. You must enable
the Expansion Module service on the built-in UC experience. Then from the Expansion
Module application, you can establish a connection to the local built-in UC experience.
When connected with the local Expansion Module, Avaya Vantage
™
built-in UC experience
displays the navigation shortcut icon to the local Expansion Module. Expansion Module displays
your configured feature buttons and a navigation shortcut icon to the built-in UC experience.
When paired automatically, Expansion Module does not provide you options to disconnect and
remove the pairing. You cannot connect this Expansion Module to another Avaya Vantage

™
built-in UC
experience can still accept two more connection requests from other Expansion Module
applications running on different devices.
If you do not log in to Avaya Vantage
™
built-in UC experience, Expansion Module displays a

message.
Connectivity when Expansion Module and Avaya Vantage
™
built-in UC experience
are on two different devices
You can connect Expansion Module to Avaya Vantage
™
built-in UC experience when both are
running on different devices. To pair and establish a connection, you can search for nearby
devices using the Network Discovery service or use the device IP address.
To connect the Expansion Module application to another device, you must disconnect it from the
local Avaya Vantage
™
built-in UC experience running on the same device if connected earlier. The
ability to disconnect Expansion Module from the local built-in UC experience depends on the
device configuration by your administrator. If Expansion Module pairs automatically with the local
built-in UC experience, you cannot disconnect it.
For more information about the connection options, see
on page 115.

You can connect up to three Expansion Module applications to one Avaya Vantage
™
built-in UC
experience. Connect each Expansion Module one by one.
If Avaya Vantage
™
is already connected with three Expansion Module applications, Avaya
Vantage
™
does not accept any additional connection requests.
