The first SetLamp message is as a result of the SetRinger command immediately before it. The
second SetLamp message turns the lamp off as a result of clearing the messages.
5. Conclusion
As illustrated in these Application Notes, the Avaya™ Unified Messenger in conjunction with
the Cisco DPA 7610 Voice Mail Gateway can be configured as the voice mail server for IP
phones connected to a Cisco CallManager. This configuration allows message waiting indication
to be displayed on the IP phones.
