Procedure steps

At the command prompt on a Windows XP system, ping the switch by using the

following command:

ping <IPv6 address>%interface ID

For example:

Enabling IPv6 in Linux

Enable IPv6 to allow IPv6 functionality on the Linux system. (This procedure is specific to
Redhat Linux systems. For other Linux systems, see the appropriate system instructions.)

Procedure steps

1. Type the following command on the Linux system in /etc/sysconfig/network:

NETWORKING_IPV6=yes

IPV6INIT=yes

2. Reboot the Linux system.
