Battery life
The actual work times will vary greatly, depending on
several factors. The following have a high influence
on battery use time:
Work cycle, accelerations and frequent stopping
See page 58 for tips about how to increase
battery life
Mass of carried or lifted loads and repeated
lifting of heavy loads
Use of rotating attachments
Ambient temperatures
Correct charging of the battery
Condition of the battery
A new battery pack will reach its maximum capacity
only after a few discharge and recharge cycles. Each
discharge and charge cycle will wear the battery
slightly. Correctly used and maintained battery pack
will slowly degrade towards the end of its useful life.
The estimated lifetime of the battery is about 2500
full charge cycles. At the end of the battery life the
capacity of the battery will degrade to a point where it
is no longer practical to use the battery. Extreme
conditions can shorten the battery life quickly, follow
the instructions in this manual to keep the battery in
good condition.
For the best current delivery capacity of the battery in
daily use, it is recommended to use and park the
loader in temperatures b10 °C and +30 °C.
In this temperature range the temperature of the
hydraulic oil of the loader is warm enough for
efficiency, and the cooling of the battery is not yet
necessary.
Discharged battery can get permanently damaged
during storage. To prevent damaging the battery
during storage, see instructions regarding storage of
the loader on page 74.
Avoid deep discharge of the
battery. Complete discharge can
damage the battery.
Never operate the loader until
there is no power left to drive the
loader.
Charge the battery when the
battery level indicator shows that
no more than 10% of charge is left.
Battery will wear out quickly in
repeated deep discharge cycle
use. Recharge fully discharged
battery with complete charge cycle
as soon as possible.
To keep the battery in good condition
Recommended use and charge cycles:
It is recommended to charge the battery as soon as
the charge level is dropped to 20-30%.
For optimum everyday use, 1-2 fast charge cycles to
80-90% state of charge (“almost full)” and 1 longer
(overnight) charging is recommended.
To preserve the current draw capacity of the
battery, observe the following rules regarding
charge level and daily maintenance of the
battery:
The lithium-ion battery can be charged at any
remaining state of charge. Full discharge is
unnecessary and harmful to the life of the
battery.
It is not absolutely necessary to charge the
loader immediately after use. If you do not plan
to use the loader for some time (for a week or a
couple of weeks), full charge is not necessary.
The battery will remain in the best condition if the
state of charge is around 40-50% during storage.
See page 74 for more instructions about
storage.
Always charge the battery immediately when the
charge level is dropped to 10%. Discharge below
this level should be avoided, as deep discharge
will wear down the battery.
Avoid discharging the battery fully to a point
where there is no energy left to drive the
loader. If this happens, the battery must be
recharged immediately. Never store the
loader with an empty battery.
