Boot Menu Reference
Accessing the Boot Menu with a Serial Connection
Connect the Serial 1 Port of the NXT-700 to your computer with an RS-232 Data Transfer Cable (also
known as a Null Modem Cable).
Please note that USB-to-Serial adapters will not work with the
WACI.
Using Hyper Terminal (or similar software), connect to the NXT-700 with the default Serial
Settings: Baud Rate: 115k, Data bits: 8, Parity: None, Stop bits: 1, and Flow control: None.
Press & hold a reset button while inserting the power connector. The NXT-700 Boot Menu will appear
on the terminal screen:

4 : Set Host Name
5 : Download New Firmware (uses the LAN 1 port)
6 : Lamp Test

x : Exit menu and boot

The boot menu will prompt you through setup and diagnostics.

0: Display Current Settings
Selecting “0” will display the following as an example:
Ethernet Port 1 Settings
MAC address : [00-11-02-02-00-03]
Host Name : [WACINX1]
DHCP Enabled : Yes
