Overview

After powering up your Zoom recorder, plug the Auray 

RCH4N 2.5 mm connector into the Zoom's Remote 

port.

Record

Press once to enter standby mode so you can set 

recording levels. During recording, press to create 

marks.

Stop

Stops recording or playback.

Play/pause

Press in standby mode to begin/pause recording. Press 

in playback mode to begin/pause playback.

Fast forward

Press once to skip ahead one track. If there is a mark, it 

will skip to the next mark in the track.
Press and hold for fast forward. The longer you hold, the 

faster it will scan.

Rewind

Press once to skip to the beginning of the track. Press 

again to skip to the previous track. If there is a mark, if 

will skip to the previous mark in the track.
Press and hold for rewind. The longer you hold, the faster 

it will scan.

Recording indicator

Glows red during recording, and blinks during standby.

Adjusts the playback level.

Adjusts the recording level.

Input (MIC/1/2)

Select recording input source.

Input indicator LEDs

Indicates the selected input source. During recording, 

the LED glows green, yellow, or red to indicate the 

recording level.

Green: 

input source selected

Yellow: 

input level is over -6 dB

Red:

 input level is clipping

Plugs into your recorder’s remote control input.

Introduction

Thank you for choosing Auray.
The Auray RCH4N is a wired remote control that lets 

you record, control playback, select input, create marks, 

and set recording and volume levels on your Zoom 

H4n audio recorder. The Auray RCH4N is ideal for 

preventing handling noise, even if you’re not recording 

from a remote location.

Precautions

Please read and follow these instructions and keep 

this manual in a safe place.
•  Keep this product away from water and all 

flammable gases or liquids.

•  Do not use or store this item at extreme high or low 

temperatures.

•  Do not pull forcefully on the cable.
•  Do not attempt to disassemble or repair this 

product.

•  Clean this product with only a soft, dry cloth.

One-Year Limited Warranty

This  AURAY  product  is  warranted  to  the  original 

purchaser  to  be  free  from  defects  in  materials  and 

workmanship under normal consumer use for a period 

of one (1) year from the original purchase date or thirty 

(30) days after replacement, whichever occurs later. 

The warranty provider’s responsibility with respect to 

this limited warranty shall be limited solely to repair or 

replacement,  at  the  provider’s  discretion,  of  any 

product that fails during normal use of this product in 

its intended manner and in its intended environment. 

Inoperability  of  the  product  or  part(s)  shall  be 

determined by the warranty provider. If the product 

has been discontinued, the warranty provider reserves 

the right to replace it with a model of equivalent quality 

and function.

This warranty does not cover damage or defect caused 

by  misuse,  neglect,  accident,  alteration,  abuse, 

improper  installation  or  maintenance.  EXCEPT  AS 

PROVIDED  HEREIN,  THE  WARRANTY  PROVIDER 

MAKES NEITHER ANY EXPRESS WARRANTIES NOR 

ANY  IMPLIED  WARRANTIES,  INCLUDING  BUT  NOT 

LIMITED  TO  ANY  IMPLIED  WARRANTY  OF 

MERCHANTABILITY  OR  FITNESS  FOR  A 

PARTICULAR PURPOSE. This warranty provides you 

with  specific  legal  rights,  and  you  may  also  have 

additional rights that vary from state to state.

To  obtain  warranty  coverage,  contact  the  Auray 

Customer  Service  Department  to  obtain  a  return 

merchandise  authorization  (“RMA”)  number,  and 

return the defective product to Auray along with the 

RMA number and proof of purchase. Shipment of the 

defective product is at the purchaser’s own risk and 

expense.
