Description/cause
Indication on display
Check interlock signal.
An interlock is active.
Interlock
Check states of main and by-pass valve.
By-pass function is interlocked.
Interlock by-pass
Wait until PVST function is complete.
Partial Valve Stroke Test (PVST) is active.
PVST active
Temperature monitoring of PTC tripping device
The temperature monitoring of PTC tripping device must be connected and monitored
in an external system circuit. The signal is issued via an output contact.
Designation in the wiring diagram:
TEMP-WARNING PTC TRIPPING DEVICE
Active signal = NC contact open (NO contact = closed)
Active signal means: The PTC tripping device temperature is not within the permitted
temperature range.

Remedy
Possible causes
Check external power supply of heating sys-
tem.
Heating system (wiring diagram designation:
R5 H
) failure
for ambient temperatures below –30 °C
Switch off heater control unit

Switch off external power supply of heating
system.

Heating system defective
PTC tripping device defective
for ambient temperatures exceeding –30 °C
12.2.1.
Signal for temperature warning of PTC tripping device
The “Motor protection tripped” signal (wiring diagram designation:
TMS-M
) must be
monitored:
“Motor protection tripped” = contact NC open (contact NO = closed)
When operating in combination with a suitable heating system within an ambient
temperature range exceeding the indicated temperature range of the sub-assembly,
the signal has to be integrated into the system circuit. The integrated heating system
within actuator controls (wiring diagram designation:
R5 H
) must be checked in the
event of the “Motor protection tripped” signal (wiring diagram designation
TMS-M
).
Switch off the power supply of the heating system for temperatures significantly
exceeding –30 °C! Excessive device temperature signal due to failure of the heating
system might be the cause.
It is imperative to ensure the presence of the power supply of the optional heating
system for temperatures below –30 °C!
12.3.
Fuses
12.3.1.
Fuses within the actuator controls
F5
Automatic reset fuse as short-circuit protection for external 24 V DC supply for
customer (refer to wiring diagram)
12.3.2.
Motor protection (thermal monitoring)
In order to protect against overheating and impermissibly high surface temperatures
at the actuator, PTC thermistors are embedded in the motor winding. Motor protection
trips as soon as the max. permissible winding temperature has been reached.
The actuator is switched off and the following signals are given:
●
LED 3 (motor protection trippped) on the local controls is illuminated.
●
The status indications
S0007
or
S0011 Failure
display a fault.
The fault

is displayed when selecting
Thermal fault
.
The motor has to cool down before operation can be resumed.
