Important Information for the connection of PBX systems to the Auerswald Box

Attention: Please check if the PBX generates a busy tone on the port connected to the jack „PBX/
Tk-Anlage“ on call completion (may be a configuration option in the PBX). Connections are not
terminated otherwise.
Each internal subscriber can start outgoing external calls over each PBX with the Auerswald Box. If you
like to prevent this, do not assign any public exchange authorization to the extensions where the
Auerswald Box is connected.
Appendix, General Information
General Advice
For dialing (no matter if used for telephoning or for configuration settings in the Auerswald Box) you need
an analog DTMF telephone, an ISDN telephone with DTMF signalization or a DTMF sender.
The programming mode – signaled by the flashing LED of the Auerswald Box – will automatically be can-
celed after one minute of inactivity. If you do not like to wait such a long time to start your call, you may
switch it off as follows: Dial the telephone number of the internal extension of the Auerswald Box (e.g.
34) – wait for the end of the confirmation tone – dial „0#“.
If you wait too long with the dialing during the programming, you will hear the busy tone and will have to
start again at the beginning.
If an incomplete dialing via the Auerswald Box is finished by hanging up after the dialing of the exchange
line access number (e.g. „0“), the Auerswald Box cannot be reached for the next 2 minutes.
In the default factory settings the Auerswald Box only allows a maximum call duration of 60 minutes for
incoming and outgoing calls due to safety reasons. How to change it or to disable the restriction is
described in the following in the chapter “Configure the maximum Call Duration”.

In the default factory settings the Auerswald Box only allows a maximum call duration of 60 minutes for
incoming and outgoing calls due to safety reasons. In the following you can learn how to modify it:

About 10 seconds before the maximum calling time ends several short tones will draw your attention to
the fact that the call will automatically be canceled.
