Many problems can be isolated with the following general techniques:
•
Verify power to the unit – r28 VDC power is applied to the proper pins
on the unit. Use a voltmeter to verify correct level.
•
Reset – remove power from the unit for at least one minute and reapply power to
verify that the problem still exists.
•
Check connections and wiring harnesses – recheck all connections to the unit for
security. Check all harness runs for possible pinching. Recheck all pin outs for
application accuracy.
•
Isolation – general troubleshooting procedures involve isolating the problem.
Attempt functions at different switch points. Try different source equipment.
Once the problem is isolated to its lowest level, study all documentation on this
unit and the aircraft’s entertainment system in an attempt to determine the
cause.
