Audio Authority Model 1156 and 1166 User Manual       15

Professional Operation

The Professional mode is designed to allow easy control of 1176 Wallplate outputs from the Model 1166.
Model 9878 Wallplates provide component video, digital audio, and stereo analog audio signal connec-
tions. The Professional “default screen” is shown below. It displays the source currently assigned to each
Wallplate or zone and allows you to choose a new source for each Wallplate or zone. If the Wallplate location
is equipped with an infrared receiver, the source can also be selected using an infrared remote control in the
area where the Wallplate is located. If your distribution system uses only Model 1170 use Residential Mode,
because all Wallplate locations automatically display the same program content as the main component video
output of the Model 1166.

In Professional mode, the normal screen displays the
array of remote outputs (if Model 1176s are present),
virtual Main, All and Zone keys, the six short names
of the sources, which of these sources is currently
selected to the Main Output (highlighted short name),
which sources are currently active (overscored short
name), and whether Autoselect

is On or Off. Please ask your professional installer whether you should use

AutoSelect™ or another method of source selection.

The Model 1105 Infrared Remote Control is used to control the Model 1166 and other brands or types of
remote control may have been enabled for this purpose as well.
