A Few Quick Guidelines for Installation and Use
•
Do not place the PS-5 on a carpet. It can get warm during operation and some carpets can be damaged by direct contact
with warm surfaces. Place the PS-5 on a solid surface, such as a tabletop, shelf or equipment rack shelf.
•
Do not plug the PS-5 power supply into the AC wall socket until all audio connections have been made.
•
Place the PS-5 where it will not be exposed to moisture or direct sunlight.
•
Install the PS-5 where it can get some ventilation. It doesn’t produce a great deal of heat, but using it in a sealed enclosure
with no airflow could have long-term negative effects on the unit’s circuitry.
•
Use a soft microfiber cloth to clean dust and fingerprints off of the PS-5’s surface. Stubborn fingerprints or dirt may be
removed by spraying a small amount of water or window cleaner onto the cloth, then using the moistened cloth to clean the
PS-5. Do not spray any cleaner or other moisture directly onto the PS-5.
•
We recommend you leave the PS-5 powered up all the time, and use the Power buttons on the DDP-1 and/or DMP-1 to
control power for the individual components. This way, the components are always ready to play and can be powered up from
the remote controls.
•
If you do turn the PS-5 off using its front Power button, the unit will go through a 30-second power-down cycle and cannot be
reactivated during this time. If you try to power-up the PS-5 during this time, the front LED will flash indicating the unit is not
ready. Wait 30 second then hit the Power button again.
