3. SET-UP PROCEDURE

3.1

Disconnect power cord.

3.2

Remove protective storage cover by loosening the four thumb screws on the top of the unit.

3.3

Install lamps
3.3.1

Holding the lamp vertically by its base, carefully insert the U-bent section of tube into a slot
in the top assembly of the unit.  To prevent breaking the lamp, keep the lamp base to one 
side of the socket below.

3.3.2

Align the connector pins on the lamp base with the socket below.

3.3.3

Carefully insert the lamp in the socket.

3.3.4

Install the remaining three lamps.

3.4

Connect the power cord.

3.5

Test unit
3.5.1

Replace the storage cover and secure by tightening the thumb screws.

3.5.2

Put on protective gloves and full face shield (provided).

3.5.3a

120v:

On the 3-hour timer, turn white knob clockwise to set arbitrary time and press button 

in center. Operation indicator light on base of unit should be lit, signifying that the 
disinfection cycle has begun.

3.5.3b

230v: 

On the 3-hour timer, turn the setting dial clockwise to set arbitrary time, place the 

ON/OFF rocker switch in the ON position. Output indicator (OUT) should light and the 
power indicator (POWER) should be flashing.

3.5.4

Ensure that all four lamps are lit through the observation windows in the cover.

3.5.5

Replace the protective storage cover when the unit is not in use.

5. OPERATION

5.1

Determine treatment time for the area to be disinfected by referring to the attached chart.
5.1.1

Read the longest room dimension on the horizontal axis.

5.1.2

Follow an imaginary vertical line through this point and note where the heavy black line is 
intercepted.

5.1.3

At this point, follow an imaginary horizontal line to the vertical axis on the left and read the 
corresponding treatment time in minutes. 

5.2

Set the unit on a cleared table or on the floor in the center of the room to be treated.  (Treatment 
is most effective when the unit is in the vertical center of the room and the ultraviolet rays are 
unobstructed.)

5.3

Connect power to the unit and remove the protective storage cover.

5.4

120v: 

On the 3-hour interval timer, turn the white knob clockwise to set treatment time.  Press 

button in center of timer to start.  Operation indicator light will come on.

230v: 

On the 3-hour timer, turn the setting dial clockwise to set treatment time, place the 

ON/OFF rocker switch in the ON position. Output indicator (OUT) should light and the 
power indicator (POWER) should be flashing.

5.5

Leave area quickly (within three minutes) to avoid ultraviolet exposure.

5.6

Post the warning sign outside the entrance to the area being treated and notify the appropriate 
personnel that the area should not be entered until the disinfection cycle is complete.

5.7

230v: 

Once the timer cycle is complete; the lamps should shut-off, output indicator (OUT) should 

shut-off and the power indicator (POWER) should remain on without flashing.
Always switch unit OFF when treatment is finished.
