Chapter 3

Operation

Overview

The KVM over IP console station can be used as a central control station to
monitor several KVM switches. Available interfaces are described in the
sections that follow.

Logging In

A valid Username and Password are required for login.

Note:

If the number of invalid login attempts exceeds a specified number of

times, a timeout period is invoked. You must wait until the timeout period
expires before you can attempt to log in again. See

Login Failures

on page 60

for further details.

The KVM over IP console station supports two modes:

a) Console station mode: Logging into the console station to manage

KVM devices centrally.

b) KVM over IP switch mode: Logging into a KVM device directly.
