The  primary  function  of  the  Alphanumeric  Television  Interface  Controller
(ANTIC)  chip  is  to  get  data  from  memory,  independent  of  the  processor,  for
display  on  the  video  screen.  Figure  1-4  shows  the  pin  assignments  for  the
ANTIC.

The  Graphic  Television  Interface  Adaptor  (GTIA)  chip  retrieves  graphics  data
from  memory  via  the  ANTIC  DMA  process.  This  data  is  routed  to  the  GTI~
graphics registers. Figure 1-5 shows the pin assignments for the GTIA.
