M.2 sockets (M.2_1; M.2_2)
These sockets allow you to install M.2 SSD modules.
•
M2_1 socket supports PCIe 3.0 x4 and SATA mode M Key design and type 2242 /
2260 / 2280 PCIe and SATA storage devices.
•
M2_2 socket supports PCIe 3.0 x4 and SATA mode M Key design and type 2242 /
2260 / 2280 / 22110 PCIe and SATA storage devices.
•
When the M.2_1 socket is operating in SATA mode, SATA port 2 will be disabled.
•
When a device is installed on the M.2_2 socket, SATA_5/6 port cannot be used.
•
These sockets support IRST (Intel
®
Rapid Storage Technology).
The M.2 SSD module is purchased separately.

Digital audio connector (4-1 pin SPDIF_OUT)
This connector is for an additional Sony/Philips Digital Interface (S/PDIF) port. Connect
the S/PDIF Out module cable to this connector, then install the module to a slot
opening at the back of the system chassis.
The S/PDIF module is purchased separately.
