Electrical Installation
6
All the tub's electrical components are
connected to a single terminal (connector),
which is located near the pump. To make the
electrical connection, simply feed this terminal
with the cables from the electrical network and a
grounding
made
according
to
standard
NBR5410 (fig. 6).
The bathtub must be connected to a dis-
connecting device (circuit breaker) incorporated
to the fixed wiring of the place where it will be
installed, and this power circuit must also be
protected by a high sensitivity DR device (<
30mA), according to standard NBR5410.
If damaged power supply cables are iden-
tified, they must be replaced immediately. To
avoid any risk, this replacement must be per-
formed by a specialized electrician, or an autho-
rized Astra technical assistant.
Parts that contain live parts, except parts
supplied with safety extra-low voltage not
exceeding 12V, must be inaccessible to a person
from inside the tub.
The tub's grounding circuit must be per-
manently connected to the fixed wiring.
Parts with electrical components should
be placed or secured so that they cannot fall into
the bathtub.
It is important to measure the voltage in
the tub's mains supply before turning the tub
on, and repeat the test with all tub equipment
turned on.
This test is to identify possible voltage
variations, which can be harmful to the tub's
electrical equipment.
To find out about minimum and maximum
voltage levels, check with your local power
company.
