Connecting the Water Sprinkler
Use the water sprinkler system to help control dust and
to prevent fire in the ground-up materials.

To connect and use the water sprinkler:
1. Check the Y-strainer screen to prevent clogging in
the spray nozzles.
2. Attach a water line or hose to the fitting shown in
Figure 72.
3. Before feeding material into the grinder, adjust the
valves to meter the incoming water as needed.
4. After use in freezing weather, detach the incoming
water source and drain the lines to prevent freeze
damage.

Inflating the IRS Air Bags
Pressure for the IRS air bags are maintained by a bat-
tery-powered air compressor (Figure 73). The air com-
pressor starts as needed when the clutch engages.
Check the pressure gauge for the desired air pressure for
your operating conditions. Air bag pressure can be set
within the Peterson display. For details, see “Air Bag
Information” on page 114“Air Bag (Adjust)” on
page 146.
If the air compressor is not working, you can inflate the
air bags from an external source of compressed air by
connecting to the Schrader valve at the bottom of the air
supply manifold (Figure 74).
Before filling the air bag from an external source, make
sure the manual air release valve is closed. Conversely,
if you need to release air from the air bag, do so by
opening the manual air release valve.
