3.6 Backplane
Each barebone system supports three 3.5-inch HDD backplanes. The miniSAS/
SATA backplanes serve as the interfaces between the server board and the HDDs.
Removing the Backplanes
1. Remove all of cables connected to the backplanes.
2. Loosen the securing screws on the backplanes.
3. Lift the backplanes up from the chassis. Hold the backplanes only by the edges.
Before removing and installing the backplanes, power off the server and unplug the power
cord and make sure all 3.5” HDDs have been removed.
