4. PTP4L
The Ptp4l is a popular open source for realize IEEE-1588 Precise Time Protocol. The original IEEE-1588
defines several network roles (Ordinary, Boundary, Peer-To-Peer Transparent, End-To-End Transparent) for
time synchronization. The IEEE 802.1AS is used for time synchronization between network devices under
Time-Sensitivity Network. The Boundary model is used for met bridge structure in the IEEE 802.1AS.

Below figure is an example PTP topology through PTP4L:
Assume the device
“SWITCH 1” is the best clock so that all other network devices in topology should do time
synchronization and reference clock source from it. The
