3.1.2 External Power Supply
The Ascom 24VDC power supply unit must be used to power legacy teleCARE M devices.
The external power requirement for the teleCARE M system is 24VDC. The acceptable
range of the power supply voltage is 21.6V to 26.4V.
The optional 24VDC power supply units shall be EN 60950-1 or EN 62368 certified and
"CE" marked. The input Mains power requirement is 230V/50-60HZ. The power supply
unit must be plugged into a UPS power outlet.
The power distribution is best organized with decentralized power supply units located as
close as possible to the rooms which they supply. This minimizes the volts drop caused by
the length of the power supply wires and the load of the peripheral devices.
Caution: In some cases, the external 24VDC power supply may be equipped with a
replaceable fuse. Use only fuses that comply with the requirements indicated on
the power supply or the fuse receptacle.
