RegiDamper™ Installation Instructions

Installation Procedure

Air Tube Installation

•

Run a flexible snake from the boot towards the main trunk.  You might have to hook the end

of the snake once it enters the main duct and pull it towards the cut opening.  Attach the 1/4

inch tube to the end of the snake and tape it securely.  Pull the snake and tubing back

through the duct and out of the boot.  Leave a ninimum of twelve (12) inches outside of the

boot and secure it to prevent it from pulling back into the duct.

•

Bring each tube out of the side of the duct near the opening.

Group all like zone tubes together with tees or use the

multi-port EzyHub™ from Arzel (see Fig. 1-b).  Be sure to

use a bushing (.25” ID available through Arzel)  to protect the

tubing where it exits the duct.

•

Run one tube per zone from the Arzel panel back to the

grouped damper tubes.

•

Close the opening in the duct with a sheet petal patch and tape

or silicone for a proper air seal.

Damper Installation

•

At the register boot, cut tube six (6) inches outside the floor/ceiling opening and connect to

damper actuator. (Leave the red orifice in place to provide flow and quiet operation.)

•

Insert the RegiDamper™ into the boot and hold damper in place with one screw on each

end (holes provided.)  Do not tighten screw against end plate.  This will pull damper frame

out of square and cause it to bind.

•

Once damper operation is tested, secure it with rubber sealant and remove screws.

•

Place register into boot.  If register louvres come in contact with the RegiDamper™,

remove the louvres.
