Manual Usage
A.
General
1)
This manual describes the operation, installation, and maintenance of the ARTEX ELT
4000 Survival (S) emergency locator transmitter (ELT). The information is provided to
ensure initial and continued airworthiness. Information presented in this manual is
accurate at the time of printing but is subject to change. Refer to the ARTEX web site

for the latest information and any updates to this manual.

Information on the Cospas-Sarsat emergency locator beacon registration requirements
and procedures is provided in Appendix A

ACR Electronics, Inc. reserves the right to add approved components to the ELT
system; including but not limited to antennas, remote switches and coaxial cables, if
applicable

Consult your national aviation authority for applicable requirements.

In the United States, the ARTEX ELT 4000S must be installed and maintained in
accordance with the requirements herein, as well as any CFR and FAR Parts as
applicable.

In Canada, the ARTEX ELT 4000S must be installed and maintained in accordance with
the requirements herein as well as Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR) as applicable.
5)
ARTEX ELT 4000S installation and maintenance in all other countries must comply with
the requirements herein as well as applicable national airworthiness requirements. In
the absence of any inspection requirements from national regulatory authorities,
operators should follow the annual inspection procedures outlined in Inspection and
Test Procedures on page 24 of this manual.
6)
To ensure proper operation, only parts listed in the Illustrated Parts List of this manual
or those recommended by ACR Electronics, Inc. may be used as replacement parts for
the ARTEX ELT 4000S.
