MCCS Deployment
The configuration service is part of
pciemgmt
package. Only the
pciemgmt
together with the
RabbitMQ are started by the system on the mCPU. On other application CPUs these services
are disabled.
You can start and stop MCCS through
systemd
.
systemctl start/stop pciemgmt.service
The service writes a log file and it is available at /var/log/mccs.log .
The MCCS includes a pure configuration layer, which stores all configuration modifications
first. That means, all modifications will not be applied directly to the hardware. They will be
stored in the configuration layer and will be set after applying the configuration followed by
necessary reboot of the system.
At startup, the service creates the configured number of virtual functions (VF) for an Ethernet
device and creates a local MAC address for each VF. These local MAC addresses start with ‘02’.
The following bytes specify the chassis information, the address of the physical Ethernet device
(PF) and a number of the VF.
