3.1.1

Serial ports

The SA-1100 provides six serial ports. Five of these use dedicated serial interface ports 
and the sixth is implemented using GPIO pins. The serial ports are used to communicate 
with on-board devices and to provide external interfaces. The SA-1100 provides:

two RS232 serial ports

•

UDC device port (not used on P1100)

•

IrDA port

•

MCP  port 

•

Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) port.
