HOUR METER
Press the toggle button to shift between
different functions.
a. Timer. TMR1 measures engine
runtime until it is reset. Press and hold
the toggle button to reset the timer.
b. Service Alert Message. The message
displays two hours before the service
is recommended and flashes "NOW"
when the service is due. Service time
is measured for:
• Oil changes (CHG OIL)
• Air filter service (SRV AIRFILTER)
Press and hold the toggle button to
clear a service message.
c. Recommended Service Intervals. The
recommended service intervals are
preset into the hour meter. See
The preset engine oil service intervals in the
hour meter are normal, recommended
intervals. Refer to your engine manual for
more information.
CHECK SAFETY INTERLOCK
SYSTEM
Check function of the Safety Interlock System
by performing the tests below. Contact your
Ariens dealer for repair if any of the tests fail.
CHECK PARKING BRAKE
1. Park unit a flat, level surface.
2. Move steering levers to neutral position.
3. Set parking brake.
4. Stop engine and wait for moving parts to
stop and for hot parts to cool.
5. Set both transaxle bypass levers in the
rear position. See
6. Push unit forward.
• If unit does not move forward, no further
action is needed.
• If unit easily moves forward, adjust the
brake lever. See
CHECK ENGINE OIL
NOTICE:
Engine oil level must be maintained
at correct level or engine damage may occur.
Refer to engine manual.
CHECK TIRE PRESSURE
recommended tire pressure.
CHECK CARBON CANISTER

inflating. Use a clip-on
chuck and extension hose
long enough to allow you to
stand to one side.
• DO NOT mount a tire
without proper equipment
and experience.
