Remove hex shaft from pinion gear and friction disc
assembly.
IMPORTANT: One flat steel washer is positioned between
pinion gear and frame.
10. Remove friction disc assembly.
Install Friction Disc
See Figure 42.
1.
Align friction disc assembly with shift fork roller
bearing and hex shaft.
2. Insert hex shaft through friction disc.
3. Position flat steel washer and pinion gear against
frame and align with hex shaft.
4. Insert hex shaft through pinion gear, flat steel washer
and into bearing.
