UNPACKING INSTRUCTIONS

Remove all parts and packing materials from carton.

Turn carton upside down on floor of work area.  To
protect bagger cover during assembly, place cover
upside down on overturned carton.

Check carton contents against list. Be sure all parts are
there.

These Are the Tools You Will Need to Assemble
Your Bagger:

Open End Wrench 1/2", 5/8", 7/16", 5/16", 3/8"

and/or adjustable wrench

ASSEMBLY

For ease and safety in installing the vanes, use ramps or
remove the entire mower deck from the unit.  Refer to the
unit owner’s manual for mower deck removal
instructions.

VANE INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT: If this bagger is applied on Ariens units
certified to European Standard EEC538 Noise Directive,
addition of vanes will exceed the allowable noise levels
and void the certification. For these models, do not install
the vanes.

Since vanes generally require more power and generate
more noise we recommend that the user try mower
without vanes first.  If performance is satisfactory, use
bagger without vanes.  Generally, broad leaf grasses can
be cut and bagged without vanes.  Fine grasses or
extremely damp conditions may require vanes.

Secure vanes on bottom of blade using (grade 8)
5/16"-24 x 3/4" hex bolts from top down with locknuts on
bottom.

IMPORTANT: When using vanes, there must be at least
1/4" clearance between bottom of deflector baffle at the
discharge of mower deck.

1. Secure vanes on bottom of blade using hex bolts

and top lock nuts provided.

BAGGER ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

1. Hook bagger frame in the slots on the unit frame.

Secure bagger frame to unit drawbar with 1/2"-13 x
3/4" cap screw.

2. Secure tube assembly to bagger frame with hair

pin.

3. Snap upper boot into the stationary cover from the

inside out and rotate into the proper place.

4. Slide bagger buckets into position then lower and

secure cover with hooks through eye of eye bolts.
(Make sure that covers fit together properly.)

CAUTION: Deflected material may cause
injury. ALWAYS operate mower with bagger
cover closed and secured, boot and tube
fastened securely or with chute deflector in
operating position.

WARNING: Vanes MUST be used in pairs.
DO NOT interchange with different or worn
vanes on same blade.  Using one of each of a
different type or worn vane will cause blade to
be out of balance and severe vibration will
occur.

CAUTION: Special cap screws and lock nuts
are supplied for installation of vanes.  DO
NOT substitute.
