4 Initial start-up
Please remove the kettle and the baseplate from the packing and clean the unit
with a damp cloth. Afterwards connect the kettle only to a properly installed
grounded socket. Before regular use, fill the water reservoir with cold water to its
maximum level and boil according the following instructions. Thereafter discard
the water in order to remove any residues of the production process.
5 Handling
Open the lid by holding the lever and turning it counter clockwise (OPEN). Fill the
kettle with cold water and place the lid back on the fastening. Turn the lid clockwise
(LOCK) until the kettle is locked securely. To pour out water you have to press the
lever down. The water kettle is not fully watertight. Please keep this in mind when
transporting it. Make sure it is in an upright position when you are transporting it
.
Note: Inside the kettle there is a mark for the maximum filling, which can be seen
when the lid is removed. Please do not fill it with more water than recommended
because hot water can spill out. Place the kettle on the base plate and push the on
/ off switch. The switch has two separate pressure points you can use to turn it on
or off. After activating the switch the kettle will boil the water. It will automatically
turn itself off when the water has reached the target temperature.
6 Decaling and cleaning
We recommend decalcifying the kettle in regular intervals, depending on the in

tensity of use. Before cleaning, it is essential to remove the power plug from the
socket and wait until the device is completely cooled down. The scale filter is locat
-
ed prior to the spout. To remove the filter, open the cover and push the plastic flap
downwards. Then deep clean the taken filter with warm water and insert it into
the holder again. When inserting the filter, take care that the retaining lug is fixed
to the guide rail. Only use conventional decaling agents based on citric acid. Please
follow the manufacturer´s instructions for dosing the respective product you have
chosen. The heating element must not be cleaned and never be processed with
sharp or hard objects. For cleaning the outer surface of the kettle, only use a damp
cloth. Never use hard or abrasive objects like a wire brush or a steel-sponge for
cleaning. Please do not use any aggressive cleaning agents which could be harmful
for human consumption or damage the surface.
