Putting the AQV into use
Remove the packaging and rinse all
parts, then put the multi-layer filter
horizontally in a bowl with cold water
for approximately 15 minutes. Turn
the filter and lift it a few times to expel
any air left.
Put the filter straight up and leave
it under a slowly running tap for
5 minutes in order to remove
carbon traces.
Assemble the tap as
shown but do not turn
it too tight to prevent it
leaking.
Rinse the stones under a running
tap. Place the stones in a bowl of
water for 20 minutes. Then taste
the water. If it doesn’t taste good
then repeat.
If the taste is good then boil some
water ** and pour this over the
stones. Leave them in the water
for about 1 hour.
Put the pH ring***on the bottom of the tank
and put the stones around the pH ring.
(The ring in the AQV 5 is slightly off centre
because of the magnetised tap.)
Place the water tank lid on
the lower tank ****. Screw
the multi-layer filter into the
filter ring from the bottom
up. Place the filter ring,
with the filter, in the hole of
the water tank/lid.
Shift the silicon ring over the
screw thread on the ceramic
filter and push the screw
thread through the hole in
the upper tank.
Then screw the wing nut
underneath the tank.
Pour water into the upper
tank. N.B. Do not fill the
upper tank with more
water than the lower tank
can hold.
This in order to prevent it
from overflowing.

* the AQV 5-12 has 2 silicon rings. The AQV 18 has 4 silicon rings.
** If you have a Cormac ring (AQV18) instead of mineral stones, you should rinse the Cormac ring
thoroughly under a running tap. After this is done, put the Cormac ring on the bottom of the tank.
*** pH ring is fitted in the alkaline model only.
**** the glass model does not have a lid on the tank.
