Shutting down the unit.
To simply stop production, turn off feed supply, however the membrane MUST
NOT be allowed to dry out. If unit is off for more than 7 days, allow the unit to run
to waste for 30 minutes before collecting permeate water. If the unit is to be shut
down for longer periods we strongly advise the installation of 2 isolation valves
(part no. AVW010). One connected to the waste pipe and one connected to the
permeate pipe. This will help stop the ingress of bacteria into the unit and also
ensure that the unit remains full of water and stop the membrane from drying out.
The unit should be flushed for a minimum of 2hours when reinstated.

MAINTAINCE
Changing the Sediment and Carbon prefilter.
The Sediment (part no. AVW013) and the Carbon (part no. AVW014) prefilters
require changing ever 6-12 months depending on the quality of supply water. A
significant reduction in flow indicates a blocked prefilter.
1) Shut of water supply
2) Undo the hose connections on the prefilter to be replaced and remove
prefilter from retaining clips.
3) Remove pipe fittings from prefilter to be replaced and install on new
prefilter. PTFE tape can be used to seal connections.
4) Reinstall prefilter into retaining clips on the unit and reconnect pipe fittings.
Changing the membrane.
If there is still a greater than 50% reduction in flow after replacement of prefilters
and provided there has been no change in other operating parameters i.e. mains
water pressure, operating pressure etc. It may be necessary to replace the
membrane. Depending on the quality of supply water this maybe every 2 to 8
years provided prefilters have been regularly changed.
1) Shut of water supply
2) Undo pipe connection to the top of the membrane housing.
3) Unscrew the lid of the membrane housing.
4) Carefully remove the old membrane from the housing noting its position. It
maybe necessary to use pliers or similar to remove.
5) Lightly grease the two O rings on the end of the new membrane with
silicone grease or similar product. This will make installation easier and
assist in providing a good seal between waste and permeate water.
6) Install the new membrane ensuring the large rubber seal is uppermost into
the same position as the old one.
7) Re install housing lid and reconnect pipe.
8) Recomission unit as for installation instructions.
