Pre-Installation
Installing Display Unit
Choose a location for the Display Unit, which must be within
wireless range of the sensors. The wireless range will depend
on the presence of objects, such as walls and vegetation,
between the Display Unit and each sensor.
The Display Unit can be
wall mounted using the wall
bracket. To place it on a
bench remove the wall
bracket and rotate the foot-
stand outwards.
Wireless range is usually
best when the sensor and
Display Unit are located
away from the ground and
the antenna is not sitting
on a surface.
Step 1: Unpack the Display Unit and connect the DC power
adaptor to the Display Unit and switch the power on at the
wall. Use the buttons to set the time and date and day of
week. Answer NO to the question to clear values.
Step 2: Referring to the Menu Guide, enter the menu system
by pressing the OK button. Use the menu to set the number
of users, Tank height and volume and alarm settings. The
date and time can also be changed if needed.
Battery Insertion – Tank Sensor
Step 3: Fit the AA batteries and check the polarity (+ and -)
which is shown inside the battery cover. Once the batteries
are in place, push the battery compartment cover back on
whilst observing the LED through the recessed hole in the
cover and check that it flashes briefly. If the LED indicator
doesn’t flash then check the orientation and type of battery
used.
Check Wireless Connection
Step 4: Observe the Display Unit after a few minutes to check
that a wireless connection has been established.
Step 5: Use the Display Unit menu to enter the height of the
tank from the bottom of the tank to the roof, in millimeters. If
the roof is sloped then measure from the outside edge of the
roof (the lowest point of the roof) to the bottom of the tank.
Step 6: Next, enter the tank size in litres. Some tanks may
have this stamped on the roof or you may obtain the capacity
from the tank manufacturer or supplier. If this information
cannot be found then please contact Aquamonitor Support.
Tank Sensor Installation
The Tank Sensor mounts to the top (roof) of the tank on the
outside. The best location is toward the middle of the tank
and/or at the highest point of the tank and away from the
edges. Ensure that the location of the sensor has a clear line
of sight to the bottom of the tank. Internal structures between
the sensor and the bottom of the tank will limit the
measurement range.
Before fitting the Tank Sensor to the top (roof) of the tank,
place the sensor in the desired location and check the wireless
connection to Display Unit.
Placing and Securing Tank Sensor
Step 1: Check that:
•
There is a wireless connection with the Display Unit.
•
The sensor is not near side of the tank (more than
500mm).
•
The distance from the maximum water level and the
sensor is at least 300mm.
•
There is a clear line of sight to the bottom of the tank.
Step 2: The Tank Sensor has been designed to allow for tanks
with a sloped roof. When fitting the sensor, position the unit
across the gradient of the tank. This will allow the angle to be
set to counter for the gradient.
Step 3: Using the drilling template supplied, provide the
mounting holes in a removable lid or in the roof of the tank.
Remove the battery cover from the sensor.
Step 4: Fit the P clips to the sensor head first then screw the
P clips into place around the centre hole.
Step 5: Observe the spirit level guide and adjust the level to
vertical before tightening the screws holding the P clips.
Step 6: Fold the top half of the sensor over to cover the
sensor head and fasten the body of the sensor to the roof of
the tank using four screws and refit the battery cover.
