ADJUSTING THE TRIM PLATES

You can also use the trim plates to adjust the ride of the
boat. Bending the plates down will help keep the boat 
from proposing (the front bouncing up and down). Bending
them up will make for a looser (faster) ride but at the
same time make the boat unstable. It is best to make
small adjustments one at a time. 

You can use a large pair of pliers to adjust the trim plates.
Remember, just tweak the plates as a very small adjustment
can drastically change the way the boat runs.
