(A) INTRODUCTION
Your AQUV-8R1 features a two-stage design. The first stage is a 5 micron sediment filter
that reduces dirt, rust, sand and other fine particulate matter. Stage two is a UV system
that instantly destroys pathogenic bacteria (such as coliform, E. coli, viruses, etc) in the
water using germicidal ultraviolet light emitted by a specially engineered UV lamp at
254 nm wavelength. Treated water flows out of the chamber and is ready for use

UV systems are used around the world as a primary disinfectant as it is a natural,
non-chemical, environmentally safe technique that is not known to form any harmful
disinfection by-products.
