Troubleshooting
Symptom
– The X-FireWire card is not appearing in Audio Midi Setup
Solution
- If you’re computer is equipped with FW800 connections, be sure you’re connecting the X-
FireWire card to the computer with a FW800 cable.
Open
System Profiler
(Applications>Utilities), and click on
FireWire
(under
Hardware
). You should
see the following display.
Symptom
– The card is recognized correctly in Audio Midi Setup, but audio is not passing to or from
my audio application.
Solution
– In order to assure lock of the FireWire buss, toggle the Format sample rate in Audio Midi
Setup.
Symptom
- The X-Firewire card is not recognized when I connect it to my Firewire PCI card.
Solution
- Firewire PCI cards are not supported at this time. Connect the X-Firewire card to a com-
puter chassis Firewire port.
Symptom
- My X-Firewire card won’t update, or isn’t recognized by the Firewire Updater.
Solution
-Unmount and remove all other Firewire devices attached to same Firewire buss as the X-
Firewire card.
