SNMP Configuration
Simple N etwork M anagement P rotocol ( SNMP) i s t he protocol developed t o manage
nodes (servers, workstations, routers, switches and hubs etc.) on an IP network. SNMP
enables network administrators to manage network performance, find and solve network
problems, an d pl an for net work g rowth. Network m anagement s ystems l earn of
problems by r eceiving t raps or c hange n otices from network dev ices i mplementing
SNMP.

Community Strings
Here you can define the new community string set and remove the unwanted community
string.
String:
Fill the name string.
RO:
Read o nly. Enables r equests ac companied by t his community string to
display MIB-object information.
RW:
Read w rite. Enables r equests ac companied by t his community string to
display MIB-object information and to set MIB objects.
Click
Add
button.
To r emove t he c ommunity s tring, s elect the community s tring t hat y ou have
defined a nd click
Remove
button. Y ou c annot e dit t he n ame o f the default
community string set.
Agent Mode:
Select the SNMP version that you want to use and then click
Change
button to switch to the selected SNMP version mode. The default value is ‘SNMP
v1/v2c only’
