Chapter 4 — Adjustment
4-1 Introduction
This chapter contains procedures for calibrating the series MG3702xA Synthesized Signal Generators. These
procedures are typically performed when out-of-tolerance conditions have been noted during performance
verification testing (
Chapter 3 ) or as a result of replacement of subassemblies or RF components.
4-2 Test Equipment List
Table 4-1 provides a partial list of the test equipment for these adjustment procedures. The test equipment
setup is critical to making accurate measurements. In some cases, you may substitute test equipment having
the same critical specifications as the test equipment indicated in the test equipment list (refer to
“Measurement Uncertainty” on page 3-4 ).
4-3 Test Records
A blank copy of a sample adjustment test record for each MG3702xA model is provided in Appendix A ,
“Section 4-4 Adjustments after Subassembly Replacement” . It provides a means for maintaining an accurate
and complete record of instrument adjustments. We recommend that you copy these pages and use them to
record the adjustment of out-of-tolerance MG3702xA circuits or the adjustment of the MG3702xA following
replacement of subassemblies or RF components.
Note
The adjustment procedures in this chapter support operating firmware version 1.7.0 and above.
Anritsu recommends that you upgrade your instrument operating firmware to the latest available
version prior to calibration.
