4.3 - ADJUSTING THE TRACKING
The tracking corresponds to the difference in pointing of the optical axis
between the short focal length and the long focal length (Figure 12).
This parameter can be evaluated in projection or on camera by pointing
a fixed object at the center of the image.
Measuring the tracking
- Take off the rear cap.
- Mount the zoom with a checker on a projector.
- Take off the front cap.
- Position the zoom at about 6 feet at long focal length and put a mark
on the screen.
- Switch to short focal length (Figure 12)
- Measure the tracking (T) which is the distance between the long focal
length and the short focal length.
Adjusting the tracking
You can adjust the tracking with the four tracking adjustment screws (13
; Figure 8) at the rear of the zoom.
- Adjust the horizontal axis with the two vertical screws
- Adjust the vertical axis with the two horizontal screws
- With an Allen key, untighten one screw while tightening the other
(Figure 13)
- To check the modified shift, measure again
- If necessary, repeat until you get the correct shift.
4.3 - REGLAGE DU TRACKING
Le tracking correspond à la différence de pointage de l’axe optique
entre la courte focale et la longue focale (Figure 12).
Ce paramètre peut être évalué en projection ou sur caméra en pointant
un objet fixe au centre de l’image.
Mesurer le tracking
- Retirez le bouchon arrière.
- Montez le zoom avec un vérificateur sur un projecteur.
- Retirez le bouchon avant.
- Positionnez le zoom à environ 2 mètres en longue focale et faites une
marque sur l’écran.
- Passez en courte focale (Figure 12)
- Mesurez le tracking (T), c’est-à-dire la distance entre les positions de
l’axe optique en longue focale et courte focale.
Régler le tracking
Le réglage du tracking est accessible par les 4 vis (13 ; Figure 8) de
tracking à l’arrière du zoom.
- Ajustez l’axe horizontal avec les deux vis verticales
- Ajustez l’axe vertical avec les deux vis horizontales
- Avec 2 clés Allen, desserrez une vis tout en serrant l’autre (Figure 13)
- Pour vérifier le décalage modifié, mesurez de nouveau
- Si nécessaire, renouvelez jusqu’à obtenir le bon décalage.
