 AMX TDS (Television Delivery System)

Recommendations for Installing DTV-TX02-DVB-S – Large 
System With Quattro LNB 

It is recommended that all installations of the DTV-TX02-DVB-S use an appropriately sized satellite dish 
fitted with a Quattro LNB. 

It is also recommended that each DTV-TX02-DVB-S unit is typically ‘tied’ to a specific LNB output, hence is 
tuned to a specific frequency/polarization during initial installation only. The DTV-TX02-DVB-S receiver 
does not provide LNB power and 22kHz tone, which is not required for Quattro LNB installation, providing 
multiswitchers are not utilized, and each tuner is tuned to a specific range of channels available to an LNB and 
not re-tuned regularly.

FIG. 97 shows a typical recommended installation for the AMX DVB-S receiver. Various options are 
available, including alternative manufacturers for the satellite amplifier, and the active splitters shown could be 
replaced by passive alternatives if the number of receivers is small and the associated signal lose is acceptable. 

The splitters could also be replaced by any suitable distribution amp, providing they are suitable for the 
frequency range 950-2150Mhz and do not present multiswitch outputs. Suitable distribution amplifiers are 
available from Proception – Starbox proSTR5S, porSTR10S, or Labgear HDU681S, HDU641S.
